Washington state law defines a service animal as “an animal that is trained for the purposes of assisting or accommodating a disabled person’s sensory, mental, or physical disability.” the type of dog is not limited to medium or large dogs, even though large dogs are often required for such tasks as pulling wheelchairs, for example.
